SOUND LIKE LOOKS LIKE

When I was 35 years old, I met one of a foreigner. He ask to me something. I knew he spoke English. But I don't understand he say moreover, I can't speak anything even Japanese.
That's so shock for me. I was rearning English so hard while I was student. besides I was belong to English club. Don't you believe it?
I thought I want to manage to do learn English.
When I was 40 years old, some foreigner ask to me. He said could you take a our picture? in fact, I need show to our neighbor that we came to Japan...
I ask to them. only one word "O.K". and I take a their picture use their camera. I feel maybe my English is getting better.
When I was 49 years old, I went to Hawaii with my wife.
It was so surprised, a step I into the plane that's not Japan. Crew member speak English. But here is the Japan. Here is the Narita yet. Here is not oversea yet.
Some crew member began to carry meal for passenger. One of the crew approach to us. her voice sound like a fowl and her face looks like a cattle.
in time she ask to us. "chicken? or beef?" I thoght "I don't have you."
Of cause I didn't say like that. We determime separate each other about befall misfortune to us. My wife eat chiken and I have beef.
