　GSC社のアップデートページにアップデーターがおいてある。14MBありますけど。うちのバージョンは1.1だったのでさっそくダウンロード。

Updates F/A-18 Korea 1.0 or 1.1 to F/A-18 Korea 1.2

F/A-18 Korea 1.2 has slightly higher system requirements than its predecessor, but it is mainly intended to support newer video cards and faster Macintoshes.
　ver.1.2は前作よりわずかにハードの条件が厳しくなっている。これはより新しいMACとビデオカードをカバーするためである。

Requirements: MacOS 8.6 or 9 running on a G3 or G4 CPU of at least 300 MHz.ATI Rage 128/Radeon or NVidia graphics card with at least 8MB VRAM.
　OS8.6下9以降の300MHz以上のG3またはG4マシン。8MBラムを積んだATI Rage 128/Radeon か NVidiaビデオカードが必要。

F/A-18 Korea 1.2 Beta 1 updater includes:
- Use of higher resolution textures for clouds, terrain and bodies of water.
- Includes volumetric clouds in addition to high-altitude cloud layers.
- Improved lighting effects, including lens flare and water reflective glare.
- Supports NVidia and ATI graphics using OpenGL 1.2.
- Improved missiles and flare visuals and behavior.
- Network play allows host to set game parameters, including a time limit and/or a kill limit.
- Textures are now TARGA (.tga) format files, and so may easily be edited with an image editor.
・雲、土地のより高解像度のテクスチャ。
・高高度の雲のレイヤーとvolumetric cloudsを含む。
・水の反射やレンズフレアなどの光の効果。
・OpenGLを使ったNVidiaとATIのビデオカードをサポート。
・ミサイルの煙と動きが改善。
・ネットワークではタイムリミットかキルリミットを含むゲームパラメーターをホストがセットできるようになった。
・テクスチャファイルが.tgaフォーマットになり、イメージエディットが簡単になった。

　解凍したら、次はいよいよアップデート。手順は次の通り。

To update F/A-18 Korea 1.0 or 1.1 to F/A-18 Korea 1.2:

Run the patch:　まずはパッチを当ててやる。
1) Click on the "Patch" button.
2) Locate your existing "F/A-18 Korea" on your hard drive .
3) Click on "Patch" to begin the update.

　F/A-18 Korea 1.2 patchをダブルクリックして1.1の場所を教えると、しばらくして1.2のファイルができあがる。1.1はなくなります。

Copy update folders:
In addition to running this patch, remember to copy the folders included with this
update into the existing "Korea" folder on your hard drive. Tey are: "Textures HRO";
"Textures LRO"; "Textures HRG"; "Textures LRG"; "Override" and "Text"
(replaces the existing folder.)

　次にフォルダをコピーする。アップデーターフォルダの中の6つのフォルダを1.1のフォルダに移動させ、上書きする。

Rename your Korea folder:
Finally, to mimic the shipping installer, you should rename your "Korea" folder to
"F/A-18 Korea 1.2".

　フォルダ名を"F/A-18 Korea 1.2"に変更してできあがり。

　うちのマシンはPowerBookG3/333MHzです。残念ながらこのスペックでは1.2はスムーズに動いてくれません。かなりのマシンパワーが必要なようです。

　また、「コマンド+F」が解除できないなどの現象もでました。

　そんなわけで、魅力はあるのですが、残念ながら1.1に戻しました。
　G4マシンに買い換えたときのお楽しみにしておきます。
