Intercept and destroy a bomber group targeting Kuwait City. Down all enemy airplanes before they deploy their bombs.

Background:
Kuwait City, the capitol city of Kuwait, is home to more than 380,000 people. It, like the rest of the country, was invaded and occupied by the Iraqi military in 1990. Looting and harsh military rule caused a great deal of damage to the city during the six-month occupation. However, a coalition defeat of the invading army allowed Kuwait to return to its former status as a modern technological, financial and economic leader in the Arab world.

Wealth from it's oil fields in the coastal desert and in the gulf was responsible for the quickened pace of recovery. An important oil port, Kuwait produces petrochemicals and other petroleum products as its main source of revenue.

Due to the coalition effort during the first Gulf War, Kuwait has been an ardent ally in the efforts to bring Iraq in to compliance with UN resolutions. Because of this, Kuwait, once again, finds itself in the crosshairs of the Iraqi military machine.

Theater Situational Report, Day 2-March 21st: 戦域状況報告、2日目　3月21日:

-3rd Infantry Division advances 100 miles NW from Kuwait with little resistance.
-1st Marine Expeditionary Force is on the outskirts of Basra, nearby oilfields secure.
-1st Marine Division and the British 7th Armoured Brigade engaged the Iraqi 51st Mechanized Division outside Basra. The battle has lasted for hours.
-Skirmishes around Umm Qasr continue despite reports that the town has been secured.
-Elements of the 1st Tank Battalion and 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines capture Safwan. ― 第3歩兵部隊は小競り合いがあったもののクウェートから100マイルの北西を進軍中。

ゲームメモ：

　発艦するとすぐにレーダーコンタクトがある。SU-27が2機、その後方にMIg-21が2機、さらに後方に20,000フィート以上を行く爆撃機が3機。2-AlAhmadi-VADと異なり、護衛機はこちらを邪魔しに来るのでやや難しくなっている。でも、僚機がついているので護衛に1発ずつミサイルを撃って相手のスピードを殺しておけば僚機が始末してくれる。後は爆撃機だけだ。ミサイルが1発足りなくなるけど、相手は鈍亀爆撃機なのでバルカンで楽にしとめられる。

War Story

　僚機とともに発艦すると、レーダーコンタクトがすぐにあった。10,000フィートをこちらに向かってくるPマーク（SU-27）が2機と、その後ろに発進したばかりと思われるMIG-21が2機、さらに遠くに20,000を過ぎてまだ上昇しつつある爆撃機が3機。

　燃料はたっぷり積んでいるので15,000まで急いで上昇した。いい天気だ。こんな日に戦わなくてはならないとは。わた雲を通り抜け、青空の中に飛びだした。遮るもののない空間だ。空の青が美しい。機体の下を流れる白い雲がなければ空中に止まっているように思える。水平に移ると敵機も目視していないうちにミサイルを撃ってきた。その瞬間から、もうまわりの景色は目に入らなくなる。こちらもAMRAAMをスホーイに発射し、チャフをまいて左に旋回する。

　右前方を見ていると2発のミサイルがこちらをそれていくのが見えた。続いて僚機とミサイル戦に入ったようだ。僚機の発射したミサイル、それに反撃するミサイルが見える。1発のミサイルが僚機の1機に当たった。「やられた」というコールが聞こえる。直後、PマークがRWRから消えた。相撃ちだ。

　続いてMIG-21が射程に入ったのでそちらにAMRAAMを撃つ。1機は撃墜。もう1機はヒットはしたもののこちらに追いすがって来た。向こうはまだ低空にいる。こちらの目標はあくまで爆撃機だ。バーナーを入れ、さらに上昇してこのMIGを振り切る。MIGも僚機も、美しい景色も後ろに置き去りだ。

　残っているミサイルは射程の短いAIM-9が2発だけだ。こちらの前方を右から左に向かっている爆撃機隊の後ろにつくように回り込む。斜め後方の位置につけ、先頭機と最後尾の機体にミサイルを発射する。どちらも命中してたちまち爆撃機は高度を下げていった。

　残った爆撃機の後方に滑り込み、スピードを落としてしっかり狙いをつける。バルカンの一撃でこの爆撃機も落ちていった。
