Objective: Escort a squadron of B-52 bombers on their multiple-target mission. Assure safe passage for the bombers as they deploy their arsenal on targets in Baghdad and then on the Baath party intelligence headquarters called "Al Hadi". Background: The Al Hadi Project is a group responsible for the collection and processing of all varieties of intelligence. It has a staff of 800, which reports to the top of the Iraqi government. -Coalition air operations continue to target the Republican Guard. -800 of the days 2000 sorties were strike sorties against Republican Guard troops. -3,000 bombs were dropped during the past 72 hours. A total of 8,000 have been used during the whole campaign to this point. -The 3rd ID attacked and seized a bridge over the Euphrates River near Al Handiyah. -Air strikes in the North intensified making this the busiest day of the war for attack sorties.
